The five most important things to look for in a caterer.

Okay Everyone,

Here is my opinion on the five most important things to look for in a caterer.

5. Select a caterer that is willing to meet with you in person, have a face to face conversation, is very thorough and doesn't mind giving you a little extra attention.

4. Competitive pricing. Not overly expensive, but not trying to undercut the competition just for the job. My advice, pick the middle quote and use your instinct.

3. Certificates and training. You should ask to see if the caterer and their staff are safe food handling certified, and red sealed (certificate of chef training).

2. Make sure the caterer has been in business for a while, I would suggest at least two years.

1. The Most Important.
That the caterer is understanding and willing to work with you about your needs and concerns. They should be helpful, not get irritated about minor changes near or at the last minute.

Quick Mother's Day Note

Hello everyone,

Just a quick blog on the latest news.

I've just had a last minute spot open up for the perfect Mother's Day gift. Sunday May 10th is now available for that great, private, home cooked, 5 star, 4 course meal youve been dreaming about. What a tremedous gift for that special lady.

Book this spot ASAP because it wont stay open for long.

After an initial meeting where we decide on the menu, I will arrive with all the necessary tools, utensils and groceries. I will spend as much time as needed and cook you and that special lady the perfect, most delicious, healthy 4 course meal. I will serve it in your favorite setting and even clean up afterwards.

I can offer wine suggestions upon request and prices start at $150 plus the cost of food.
(approx. $60)

Thats a pretty good deal when you think about it.

I hope to hear from you soon!

Happy Spring!

With the first day of spring upon us, we start thinking about eating healthier after a long winter of comfort foods. Whether it's more salads, or undressing the BBQ, the spring makes us think about freshness.

Don't get me wrong; beef stew, chicken pot pies, and lasagna are some of our favourites. But now, we will slowly start seeing the local spring vegetables appear in farmer's markets and local grocery stores. Maybe fiddlehead ferns (delicious!), baby rainbow chard, or even asparagus. Just the thought gets the creative juices flowing!

One of my favourite ways to cook is seeing how many local and fresh products I can use in any recipe. I get a lot of satisfaction (and so do my clients) about eating seasonal, great-tasting produce.

Lots of people love to cook like this. However, there are a lot of factors as to why people do not. Whether it be a lack of time, knowledge, energy, etc, it can be hard for the best of us.

This is exactly where I come in.

Food is my business, and I pride myself on cooking as fresh and local as possible. I'm very familiar with local markets, and I know how to select the best quality ingredients. Having a personal chef shop, prepare, cook, package, and store your fantastic meals is a great way to eat healthier, happier, and stress-free.

We all know eating fresh, local, and seasonal is a better way to eat...so what's stopping us? Let me help you.

P.S. Mother's Day is just around the corner! Book your private dinner now before it's too late.

Welcome everyone

Happy Thanksgiving to all!

I hope everyone has had their turkey fix fulfilled. I know I had mine. Twice!

Now that thanksgiving is over with, guess what is just around the corner? That's right, Christmas!! My favorite time of the year.

It is now time to book your Christmas event or new years celebration. Spaces are filling up fast!

Everyone has friends, relatives or company over to celebrate the holidays. What a better way to say 'tis the season' than eating, sharing, drinking and laughing your way through a fantastic meal.

After creating your customized menu, I will take care of all shopping, cooking, serving and cleaning up afterwards. All you have to do is unwind with your guests and let me take care of the rest. If you book an event before Nov. 22nd, You will receive a 15% discount on the services!

Sorry there are no prices here, rates vary from quote to quote depending on such factors as: number of guests, complexity of the menu and travel distance.

Have a great holiday season and I look forward to hearing from you all very soon!
